Comprehensive Eye Exams

During a comprehensive eye exam, our technicians and doctors will do a complete assessment of our patient’s eyes. At Oskaloosa Vision Center, we recommend annual eye exams and will often dilate our patient’s eyes so our doctors can be as thorough as possible. Our technicians and doctors will do a variety of tests to check a patient’s vision. We also test how the eyes work together as a team and assess all parts of the eye for eye diseases. Should glasses or contacts be needed, our doctors will work with the patient to make the vision clear and comfortable.

Neurolens

Symptoms of eye misalignment such as headaches, eye strain, and neck pain are prevalent in many patients. Oskaloosa Vision Center offers specific eye alignment testing with the Neurolens Measurement Device (NMD). After assessing the results of the NMD, our doctors may recommend a special lens for your glasses called Neurolens. This lens offers a contoured prism design that helps correct eye misalignment and provides comfortable vision.

Contact Lens Fitting

Our doctors are trained to prescribe and fit a variety of contact lenses. We offer soft monthly or daily disposable contact lenses, colored contact lenses, multifocal contact lenses, as well as custom designed gas permeable and specialty lenses for corneal irregularities. If a patient is new to contact lenses, our staff will teach you how to properly insert, remove, and care for your contact lenses.

Treatment and Management of Eye Disease

Eye disease such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, or diabetic retinopathy are unfortunately common in our patient population. If you are diagnosed with an eye disease, Dr. Walker and Dr. Foster are able to manage as well as treat many of the common diseases.

Post-Surgery Co-Management

The doctors at Oskaloosa Vision Center work regularly with area ophthalmologists to manage pre- and post-operative surgical visits. This includes laser vision correction such as LASIK, cataract surgery, as well as other surgeries that involve the eye or eyelids.

Eye Emergencies

Eye emergencies are something that can happen to anyone. Examples of emergencies include something in your eye, eye infections, a sudden loss of vision, significant eye pain, or new onset of flashes and floaters. Dr. Walker and Dr. Foster are able to care for these emergencies.
